It will take a combination of two things for Nigeria to stop importing Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol. These two things are the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act and Dangote Refinery being operational.
This is according to the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mele Kyari, when he appeared before members of the House of Reps Committee on Finance on Wednesday.
At the hearing, the NNPC chief also justified the Federal government’s equity share in Dangote refinery, saying Nigeria now has a venture that would ensure the production of millions of litres of petrol in the country.
