The crush occurred during rush to receive food
At least 10 women, most of whom were either pregnant and/or breastfeeding, have been killed in a stampede in the town of Monguno, Borno State.
The crush occurred when thousands of Internally Displaced Persons rushed to receive food aid distributed by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
A security source said the stampede occurred after people panicked as police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.
