Nnamdi Kanu advocates for the secession and independence of Biafra from Nigeria

Religious and traditional leaders from the South-East are asking the federal government to release leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

They made the call in a statement issued in Awka on Tuesday, signed by, Chairman, Anambra Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe and Methodist Archbishop of Umuahia, Most Rev. Dr. Chibuzo Opoko.

The joint body says it welcomes the judgment of an Appeal Court which discharged Nnamdi Kanu.
