Here's the latest update on the building collapse that happened in the Ikoyi area of Lagos. Relatives of those trapped in the rubble are asking to be part of the rescuers. They're tired of being onlookers. Our reporter says they believe that being part of the rescue process will help speed up the retrieval of their loved ones.

Meanwhile,

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, says rescue efforts are concentrated on those alive. Moreso, Hamzat confirmed that approval was given for the construction of 21 storeys on the land, contrary to what was reported earlier.  


Off to Scotland now, where President Buhari says  Nigeria is committed to net zero emissions of carbon by 2060. He revealed this at the Climate Change conference taking place in Glasgow.

The president also asked for the financing of gas projects to assist Nigeria to make a smooth energy transition from fossil fuels to non-fossil fuels.
