The state of security in the country

The offensive of the police against insurgency, banditry, and other crimes seems to be yielding some result because three persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the abduction of the 121 students of Bethel Baptist Secondary School in Kaduna.

Police spokesperson, Frank Mba, says investigations are ongoing to bring more collaborators to justice.

According to him, the suspects say they were part of a 25-man gang that carried out the attack on the school in July, claiming they received 100,000 naira each for their roles. He says they added that the sole aim of the kidnap was to collect a ransom.

21 students are still in captivity.
