Kanu was arrested last week
The UK government has promised to intervene in Kanu's arrest. The UK parliament is set to discuss the issue later today. Kanu is a UK citizen and was reportedly lured to an African country where he was picked up and brought to Nigeria.
In a post on its website, the UK parliament says it will discuss the role of Kenya; alleged mistreatment of Kanu; and the circumstances surrounding his transfer against his will.
Kanu was arrested last week and brought back to Nigeria.
