Sanwo-Olu to lead 'A Walk for Peace' in Lagos

You’ve been invited to participate in A WALK FOR PEACE, especially as a youth.  This is coming from the Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, this afternoon. He says it’s a walk to heal the wounds from last year’s EndSARs fracas. The Governor insists he’ll lead the walk which will hold in December. To him, this will facilitate better communication between the youths and the state’s security machinery to resolve issues before they become intractable. The invite extends to members of the diplomatic corps, civil society groups, students, media, as well as other stakeholders.

A prosecution witness for the ongoing trial of Nigerian singer Naira Marley was absent in court today. Augustine Anosike, a forensic analyst, was scheduled to appear in court but did not show up. Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is prosecuting Naira Marley on charges bordering on cybercrime as news evidence surfaced last month. The court had accordingly, granted him bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum

Outside Nigeria,
The Uganda Army has launched joint air and artillery strikes against the rebellious Allied Democratic Forces in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Spokesperson for Uganda People's Defence Forces, Brigadier General Flavia Byekwaso confirmed the stikes via tweet, saying the operations were carried out with Congolese allies.  She did not give further details on the areas they have been conducted.
