A Bill for an Act to provide for state police in Nigeria has scaled second reading at the House of Representatives.
Onofiok Luke, who sponsored the bill, wants the police removed from the exclusive list to the concurrent list.
Luke says State Police will help to reduce crimes at the grassroots, by complementing the role of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies in crime control.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives Speaker says there has been no alteration to the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.
