Bandit reports from Northern parts
Let’s begin in Niger where eyewitnesses say several bandits, who were killed while fleeing Zamfara and Katsina states, look like foreigners.
The terrorists had fled their hideouts due to the ongoing military operations in those states.
The military says the fleeing bandits ran into troops in Alawa where scores of them were neutralised.
The military says it is trailing some of the terrorists who escaped with bullet wounds.
Staying in the north-east, police in Sokoto have called for calm in some communities in the State after reports that a threat letter was sent to them from suspected bandits.
The threat, written in the Hausa language, mentioned five communities in Dange/Shuni Local Government Area, causing panic among the residents.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Kola Okunlola, says one person has been arrested in connection with the incident and he’s helping the police with its investigations.
