The abductees were travelling to Port Harcourt
Five members of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria and three others, who were kidnapped in Rivers State last Monday, have regained their freedom.
A statement from the union said the release of the abducted persons was sequel to the intervention of the head of the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency and other stakeholders.
The statement says the abductees are believed to be in good physical condition and adds that a detailed report on the circumstances surrounding the abduction will be provided later in the week.
The abductees were travelling to Port Harcourt from Kula area in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State when they were abducted.
