Fees seen a sharp increase following the free fall of the Naira...

The supply and distribution of petrol across the country will be improved if the federal Government give petroleum marketers access to forex at the CBN official rate.

This advice is coming from the Depots and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria.

Briefing Newsmen in Lagos, Chairman of the Association, Winifred Akpani, said the burden of sourcing forex through the parallel market for transactions in Nigeria has put petroleum marketers in difficulties.

She says Jettey Berths fees, freight charges, port charges, which are being paid in dollars, have seen a sharp increase following the free fall of the Naira.

For his part, 2nd Vice President of association, Mahmud Tukur says the collection of import charges in dollars by the Nigeria port authority and NIMASA despite a government directive, has also affected them.
