Friday, 15th of April and Monday, 18th of April will be public holidays for Easter celebrations. Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola announced this in a statement released in Abuja.
And as Christians get set to celebrate Easter, the Federal Government wants them to pray for an end to the insecurity in the country.
On its part, the government says it will ensure that the recent attacks on the country’s transport infrastructure are brought to an end.

In anticipation of the holidays, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release of 40,000 metric tons of various grains from the Strategic Grains Reserve, to cushion the effect of high food prices in Nigeria.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohammed Abubakar said the directive was issued when he met with the President at the State House, Abuja.
The Minister says this would ensure Nigerians don’t face food price surges during Ramadan, Sallah and Easter.

Meanwhile, Northern Elders have called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari following the high spate of insecurity in the country. The Northern Elders Forum is not happy with the killings in the region and other parts of the country.They feel the government has failed in providing security for Nigerians.

And in a big shocker of the night, Samuel Chukwueze scored a late equalizer as Villarreal stunned Bayern Munich to reach the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 16 years.
The game ended 1-1.
