Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has set a new Premier League record for most assists in a single season, after delivering his 21st assist in the final match of the 2025/26 campaign against Brighton.

The milestone came in the 32nd minute at the Amex Stadium, when Fernandes swung in a corner that was powered home by defender Patrick Dorgu, giving United the breakthrough in the game.

The assist confirmed Fernandes as the new holder of the Premier League single-season assist record, surpassing the previous mark of 20 shared by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.

United went on to dominate key moments of the contest, with Fernandes heavily involved in attacking build-up play and set-piece delivery throughout the match.

The Portuguese midfielder had already equalled the record in the previous game and entered the final day needing just one more assist to make history, which he achieved in composed fashion under pressure.

Fernandes’ record-breaking contribution capped a standout individual season in which he has been central to Manchester United’s attacking output, combining goals, creativity, and leadership from midfield.

He was also recently named Premier League Player of the Season, underlining his influence across the campaign.

The result wraps up United’s league season, with Fernandes ending it as the most creative player in Premier League history for a single campaign.
