Police are tracking the kidnappers - spokesperson

The news begins in Ogun where the police say they are collaborating with other security agencies to rescue the three workers of former President Olusegun Obasanjo who were abducted by kidnappers.

The spokesperson for the state Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, says the anti-kidnapping section and the Special Weapons and Tactics unit of the police are tracking the kidnappers.

Oyeyemi adds that the conventional police and other stakeholder security apparatuses are also working toward the same objective.
He advised residents to be security conscious and to refrain from keeping late nights, especially in isolated areas.

Meanwhile, men of the Ondo State Command of the South-West Security Network, code-named Amotekun have rescued nine of twelve persons who were abducted by gunmen while travelling from Abuja to Lagos.

Ondo State Commander of Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye, told reporters in Akure on Thursday that the victims were rescued after his men responded to a distress call from concerned citizens.

Adeleye says the travellers were abducted by the armed men at Idoani-Ifira axis in Akoko South-East Local Government Area of the state.
He says his men are still combing the bush to rescue the remaining three victims.
