Ikoyi building collapse: 21 bodies recovered

At least Twenty - one bodies have been recovered after a high-rise building collapsed in Ikoyi, here in Lagos, two days ago. Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu confirmed this to the press during a visit to the scene of the incident this afternnon. He says that a six-man panel has been set up to investigate the issue that led to the collapse. According to him, the panel has 30 days to conclude investigation and make their findings known to the public. 

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Governor also said a help desk has been set up with a website and email, for affected families to make enquiries and lodge their complaints.

Head coach of Rivers Angels, Edwin Okon, has returned to the Super Falcons technical team ahead of the 2022 African Women’s Cup of Nations to be hosted by Morocco. In a statement, the Nigeria Football Federation says Okon, alongside coach Justin Madugu, were absorbed into the senior women national team “in line with a recent resolve to rejig the team’s technical group’’.
The NFF says Madugu has been assigned to serve as the new first assistant coach of the team while Okon will be chief scout for the squad.
