Shut-down is part of the state's collaboration with the Ministry
Telecommunications services have been shut down in 14 to 23 local government areas in Sokoto State.
This is according to Muhammad Bello, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who says the shut-down is part of the state's collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to tackle insecurity.
He explained that the order has also led to the closure of some roads to motorists, suspension of animal trades, prohibition of transportation of cattle, as well as transportation of more than three persons on motorcycles and tricycles, among others.
