Did you know that postpartum depression in a mother can have damaging effects on her child in adulthood? This is according to a Senior Resident Doctor at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Dr Omobolawa Akande Akinyemi.
Speaking on Nigeria Info’s Morning crossfire, Dr Akinyemi further advised women to seek immediate medical help, support from family and faith-based institutions to fight postpartum depression rather than stigmatizing themselves.
