Her Manager Weighs In...
Award-winning Nigerian vocalist, Temilade Openiyi, widely recognized as Tems, has criticized body-shamers for their ongoing online comments regarding her figure.
She conveyed her sentiments on Tuesday in response to a fan's post that ridiculed her appearance, asserting that she merely possessed “large thighs, not an actual backside. ”
The “Essence” artist remarked that individuals have devoted years to making unwarranted remarks about her behind.
In her statements, she expressed, “Alright, after seven years, it’s time to cease. I never anticipated I’d have to articulate this, but you all are peculiar… It belongs to me.”
Tems emphasized that she has never concealed her physique and does not owe anyone an account for it.
She dismissed individuals who insist she “display her backside,” responding, “Nah, show ME yours first? ? Experience how that feels? It’s merely a body. I will gain and lose weight. ”
The post, disseminated via her official X account, has since attracted over 1.2 million views, instigating extensive support across social media platforms.
She further remarked, “The more you dislike my body, the more it actually benefits me. But it’s enough now. Move on from my curves. ”
Tems stands as one of Nigeria’s foremost musical representatives, recognized globally for her tracks such as “Free Mind” and “Me & U,” along with her Grammy-winning collaboration on “Essence” with Wizkid.
I will not accept disrespect towards my artists – Tems’, Omah Lay’s manager cautions
Muyiwa Awoniyi, the manager of Nigerian musical talents Tems, Omah Lay (Stanley), and Lekan, has issued a firm warning to detractors, asserting that he will not endure any form of disrespect towards his artists.
In a post shared on X, Awoniyi stated that while he remains unaffected by personal attacks, any assault directed at Tems, Omah Lay, or Lekan will be addressed seriously.
“I’ve stated it before and I will reiterate it. Insulting me? I can handle it. However, if you insult Temi, Stanley, or Lekan? We will encounter an issue. ‘Till next time, farewell for now,” he wrote.
His remarks follow Tems’ recent outcry against critics who have continuously made inappropriate comments regarding her physique, particularly her buttocks.
