Colombian pop star Shakira, Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy and Uganda’s Ghetto Kids have begun rehearsals ahead of their much-anticipated performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show.
Videos shared online show the artistes dancing with members of the Ugandan dance troupe during rehearsals, sparking excitement among fans ahead of the tournament’s grand finale.
The halftime performance will mark FIFA’s first-ever Super Bowl-style show at a World Cup final, with defending champions Argentina set to face Spain on July 19 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.
Shakira and Burna Boy previously released “Dai Dai” as the official World Cup song, with proceeds from the track supporting FIFA’s Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to provide children with access to education and football opportunities.
The Ghetto Kids, a dance group made up of children from vulnerable backgrounds in Kampala’s Katwe community, gained global recognition through their energetic performances and appearances on international talent platforms.
