= Residents of Osbourne Foreshore Two Estate in Ikoyi, Lagos have renewed calls to the state government for an appraisal of building projects in the estate.
This is coming after a 32 storey building under construction collapsed at Gerrard Road more than 27 days ago, killing an estimated 45 people and wounding several others.
The resident association of Osbourne Foreshore are now worried about violations, insisting that their call is geared towards forestalling possible disaster in the estate.

= The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control says it is monitoring emerging evidence on the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, which was first identified in Southern Africa.
This according to a statement by the NCDC's Director-General, Dr Ifedayo Adetifa who says fears about Omicron's ability to evade protective immune responses and/or its being vaccine-resistant are only theoretical so far.
The public health agency urged Nigerians to take necessary precautions while noting that researchers across the world are working round the clock to understand the possible impact of the variant.
