It is going to be a busy day tomorrow, at least in the early hours, as the 7th edition of Access Bank Lagos City Marathon takes centre stage.

As a result, the state government has announced diversions of traffic with some designated roads closed for few hours.

The marathon will be flagged off at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere and rounds off at the Eko Atlantic City on Lagos Island.

Now, pay attention to how vehicles will be diverted according to a statement from the Lagos State Sports Commission yesterday.

The government says motorists from Eko Bridge coming from Apongbon to Costain Roundabout will be connected to Ebute-Metta, Orile, Nigeria Breweries/Abebe Village, Eric Moore, Bode Thomas, and Adeniran Ogunsanya.

If you are coming from Alaka Estate, you will be diverted to Iponri or Iponri Estate to link Bode Thomas, Adeniran Ogunsanya or Babs Animasahun.

Motorists from Masha inwards the National Stadium will go through Shita Roundabout, Akerele Street to Falolu or Adeniran Ogunsanya to connect their destinations.

From Apapa/Orile Iganmu going towards Funsho Williams Avenue, cars will be diverted to Apapa Road or Nigerian Breweries/Abebe Village to link Eric Moore, Bode Thomas, Babs Animashaun or Adeniran Ogunsanya.

Meanwhile, movement on Ikorodu Road is allowed from Anthony inwards Fadeyi to Eko Bridge inwards Lagos, but no movement shall be allowed from Fadeyi inwards Anthony.

Here is an important bit you must pay attention to: the use of Anthony interchange inwards Gbagada to connect Lagos will be barred.

However, traffic coming from Gbagada can access Ikorodu Road through Anthony interchange or before it.

From Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, that’s from Mile 2, motorists will be diverted through BOC Gases/Armed Force Resettlement Centre into the service lane to connect Agege Motor Road.

Traffic shall also be diverted to Town Planning Way through the service lane after descending Oshodi Oke to connect destinations as appropriate.

From Old Toll Gate to Alapere, Ogudu, you will not be able to access Third Mainland Bridge. You will be diverted to Gbagada on Oworoshoki, Oshodi-Apapa expressway to connect your destinations.

And for guys coming from Ajah, towards Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, you will be diverted to Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1.
Cars coming from Lekki through the Ikoyi-Lekki link bridge will be diverted to Gerrard Road as Alexander and Bourdillion Roads are temporarily closed to traffic.

Finally, from Bonny Camp to Roundabout to Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, motorists shall be diverted to Kofo Abayomi Street through Old Mr. Biggs.
