300 million litres of petrol discharged at Apapa jetty

Let us start the bulletin with some bit of a good news, Although it been days of chaotic scenes at petrol stations both in Lagos and Abuja as motorists have continued to queue up for fuel due to the scarcity of the product, about 300 million litres of petrol is being discharged at the Apapa jetty.

This is according to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.

Speaking on the development, the Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Farouk Ahmed advised against panic buying.

He the country has enough petrol supply to last for 20 days.
Ahmed also disclosed that evacuation of nearly 80 million litres of dirty fuel is ongoing.

 

The Lagos State Government is expected to divert traffic on Murtala Muhammed Way of Yaba axis between Saturday, 12th February and Sunday, 13th February, 2022.
This is in preparation for the launch of Precast Beams for Phase I of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit project. 
Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, explained that a lane will be barred from vehicular movement as part of the safety precautions to protect road users during the installation of the Precast Beams.
Traffic on Murtala Muhammed Way will be diverted through Abeokuta Street to access Borno Way and Coates Street, then to further link Murtala Muhammed Way.

 

FOREIGN 
England is expected to scrap the legal requirement to self-isolate after testing positive for COVID-19 later this month.
Well, this is only if infection levels remain stable.
So says Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Johnson had earlier said he aimed to end the self-isolation rules on March 24.
