The Nigerian Army has accused the Okuama community where military personnel were killed in Delta State of resorting to propaganda.
According to the Army, the development confirmed that the killing was a communally orchestrated attack.
Recall that 16 military personnel were killed by irate youths during a communal clash over a land dispute in Bomadi and Okuoma communities in the state.
The personnel were responding to a distress call when they were ambushed and killed on Thursday.
Reacting to this, the Army lamented that rather than help to provide assistance to arrest the perpetrators of the crime, the community has been dishing out propaganda.
Director, Army Public Relations, Maj. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, maintained that no amount of falsehood would prevent those involved in the killing of the personnel from being brought to book.

Meanwhile, the Senate has condemned the killings of 16 personnel of the Nigerian Army in Okuama Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Amongst those killed are the commanding officer, two Majors, one Captain, 12 soldiers, and one civilian who lost their lives in the ambush on Thursday.
Spokesperson of the senate, Yemi Adaramodu describes the act as a perfidious height of a barbaric and heinous crime.
Adaramodu is calling for maximum cooperation, prayers, and support for the Nigerian Army this period as personel conduct operations all over the country to restore peace and stability in troubled locations.
The Army spokesman saluted the courage of the departed military men, saying they have paid the supreme price performing the ultimate act of service to the nation.

Kaduna based Muslim Cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi says the Nigerian Military knows the location of bandits and terrorists in the country.
According to him, their denial of the terrorists’ whereabouts may be a way of avoiding civilian casualties.
Sheikh Gumi said this while speaking on Nigeria Info’s Hard Facts.
He believes that the Nigerian government is not tackling the issue of insecurity the right way.
In the same vein, the Cleric believes negotiations doesn’t have to be monetary.
According to him, it could mean prisoner swap or something else being exchanged.
