There is now a shortage of supply of farm produce in the market
Let’s talk about floods still ravaging a large part of Nigeria.
There are now more cases of snakebites reported across the country as humans and the reptiles clash on dry lands while running away from devastating floods.
There is a sharp rise in such cases with more deaths recorded as the floods have equally blocked access to treatment centres.
While many have been displaced from their homes due to the floods ravaging many parts of Nigeria, another major concern has been how the floods will affect the production and distribution of food across the country.
Some farmers in Anambra and Benue state have told Correspondent, Nnenna Okon that they can no longer harvest crops from their farms as their farmlands have been submerged in water.
They also say that this has affected the prices of foodstuff as there is now a shortage of supply of farm produce in the market.
