Adichie remarks on urgent need to simplify legal procedures using technological means
The Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association is ongoing in Lagos. Giving her keynote address at the conference, Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, said there was an urgent need to simplify legal procedures using technological means. According to her, this would make the wheels of justice run efficiently as well as provide emotional benefits of closure for victims of injustice.
Also speaking at the conference, the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar said that powers should be dissolved to the state and local governments, as opposed to concentrating power in the federal government. He added that the unity of Nigeria could only be achieved when all parts of the country were given a sense of belonging.
