Donda - Kanye West Breaks Streaming Record

3.3 million people tuned into the Apple Music Livestream from the Kanye West Donda listening party

Millions of fans are expecting Kanye West's new album but it is not going to be released like his last work.

Last week, Apple Music and Kanye West teamed up to offer an exclusive Livestream of the listening event for West’s upcoming album Donda.

According to 9to5mac, the event was streamed exclusively on Apple Music from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, where it broke the record for an Apple Music Livestream.

TMZ also citing “sources with direct knowledge,” wrote that 3.3 million people tuned into the Apple Music Livestream from the Kanye West Donda listening party. This is reportedly nearly double the preview record for an Apple Music Livestream, which was set by Gucci Mane and Jeezy in their highly-anticipated Verzuz battle earlier last year — at a reported 1.8 million viewers.

TMZ says that the video will be posted to Apple Music once Kanye West releases the Donda album, which is rumored to be dropping on August 6, a date that isn't sure yet.

It was originally set to be released on July 23rd, 2021.

Kanye West set up camp at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to finish work on 'Donda'. TMZ reports the rapper has constructed a studio space and living quarters and has even brought in a private chef to prepare his meals.
