Properties owned by dead celebrities are usually often sold or auctioned for a lot of money, but the amount which one late celebrities dress was sold for will leave your mouth wide open!

A dress belonging to iconic actress, Marilyn Monroe has been sold at an auction for $4.8 millíon, the highest amount ever paid for a dress. The Jean Louis gown which is adorned with over 2,500 hand stitched crystals is the same dress in which she sang ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’ to John. F. Kennedy on his 45th birthday.

The dress, which was reportedly so figure hugging she had to be sewn into it was bought by the ‘Believe it or not’ Museum chain and the company’s vice President described the gown as the “most iconic piece of pop culture that there is”.
